Who is Arthur Fillmore?
Arthur Fillmore focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, commercial transactions, securities law, capital formation, and international law. Within his 40 year career he has represented both privately held and publicly held companies, start-ups and small businesses in a variety of transactions. Those transactions include but are not limited to mergers, sales, purchase and financing. Arthur is credited with developing a legal practice dedicated to both representing and negotiating on behalf of, client financing with commercial banks, private equity funds, health care providers, venture capital funds, and angel investors.
Arthur joins the AEGIS Kansas City team after practicing law for Levy Craig Kansas City since 2004. At Levy Craig, Arthur represented a start-up ethanol company in going public through a reverse merger into a public shell, in addition to representing clients in building and acquiring biodiesel facilities. It was here that Arthur assisted a client in licensing from the Georgia Tech Institute a microwave technology which can produce carbon, petroleum and steel from tire dump sites and municipal solid waste sites. Arthur was most noted at Levy Craig for developing a strategy for a business lawsuit that rendered the largest verdict in Ohio history, that verdict being $215 Million. Arthur’s practice in health care enterprises led him to represent Tenet Health Care in its $1 Billion offer to acquire all the hospitals owned by Health Midwest. His representation in various business sectors has led him to assist clients with their international business transactions in China, Central America, Canada, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia. Arthur has had the privilege of working for several local Kansas City Firms, including Lathrop & Gage and Condon F. Fillmore since 1975.
Arthur graduated Order of the Coif from the University Of Missouri Columbia School Of Law in 1975 where he was Managing Editor and Lead Articles editor of the Missouri Law Review. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar as well as the U.S. District Court, West District of Missouri in 1975. In addition to U.S. Tax Court in 1981.
Arthur is the Chairman and CEO of NxGen Electronics, Inc in San Diego California. He was the Co-Founder and Partner of Noble Healthcare International, LLC. He currently sits, and has since 1992, as the chairman for the Department of Veteran Affairs Advisory Committee on the Readjustment of War Veterans. He is the past chairman of the Kansas Women’s Business Center from 2004-2006, in addition to Heart to Heart International where he was a chairman from 2003-2006.
Arthur has been awarded the National Service Award from Vietnam Veterans of America in 1992, the National Service Award from Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity in 1996, and the National Service Award from the Association of the United States Army in 2003. He was Volunteer of the Year in 2003, according to The Victor E. Speas Foundation. He was given the honor of Heart to Heart Service to Humanity Award in 2006. He is most noted as being “One of 50 Missourians You Should Know,” per Ingram’s Magazine in 2013.
Arthur has been married to his wife Blair, since December of 2014. Between them, they have seven children and four grandchildren. In his free time, Arthur enjoys reading, traveling, his daily workout routine, and assisting veterans, especially homeless veterans. He founded and still chairs the Heart of America Stand Down and is a founder and President of the Board of St. Michael’s Veterans Center.
