Who is David Weaver?

David Weaver is an attorney and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience who serves established business owners with generational succession and transitions of privately held businesses, and sales of businesses, with a unique focus on the financial goals of business owners. He serves entrepreneurs with emerging and start-up businesses, including entity structure, management, taxation, relationships, Angel, Seed, VC financing, and strategic planning. David has extensive experience with employee retirement, health and welfare benefits, and executive and deferred compensation.

For over 13 years, David successfully conceived, developed, and brought to market innovative financial solutions and strategies, in particular related to retirement, employer sponsored plans, and business owner financial planning. He also consulted with hundreds of business owners nationally, helping them identify their needs, goals, and the range of solutions beyond financial products. Before that, David represented primarily privately held businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them find strategic solutions, from start-up through financing and growth through to succession or sale, as well as resolve complex ERISA, tax, and employee benefit matters. His combination of experience led him to appreciate even more how the strategic, economic goals must inform and guide technical implementation.

David received his JD from the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri.  In addition, he has completed executive management courses in Drucker Management from the Claremont Graduate University, and Competitive Strategies from the Harvard Business School Executive Education program. He has served on the Board of Directors for Prison Performing Arts, the Mizzou Alumni Association, and the Tiger Club of St. Louis. Previously he was Chapter President of St. Louis Friends of National Children’s Cancer Society.
